Baroque Fragment

Pewter cast from an existing baroque ornamental motif - acanthus leaves, scrollwork, a profile recalling a mirror frame - faithfully reproduced up to a point, then cut off abruptly rather than completed into a whole piece.

The torn edge is left rough, set directly against the precision and detail of the cast motif right beside it.
