Modular Shoes
MATERIALS
LEATHER / SEAMLESS
DESCRIPTION
Shown at Podium Schoenenlab, Schoenenkwartier, Waalwijk.
Two seamless construction methods developed in parallel, working toward the same formal goal. The first shoe is built as a flat leather pattern, cut and folded so it holds its volume through pressure alone once worn. The second is assembled piece by piece from small overlapping leather panels held together with rivets, closer in logic to armor plating than a conventional shoe.
Both pairs were shown together at Podium Schoenenlab as two different answers to the same construction constraint - no stitching - each pushing that constraint in a different direction.
